My name is Emma Burke, I’m 23 years old, from Melbourne, and a huge fan of Women’s football and the Matildas since watching the Women’s World Cup in 2015.

I studied Sports Journalism in my undergraduate Arts degree and realised that I wanted to work in women’s sports media. I then completed a Master’s degree in Media and Communications that involved an internship at Heidelberg United FC, which further reinforced my love for sports media while covering their women’s NPLW season. I’m looking forward to being able to gain meaningful experience through this program, meet and collaborate with others who love the women’s game and further develop my skills as a journalist.
